Facials And Skincare Tips At Home

Normal life as we know it is on hold. Classes are cancelled, offices are closed, no more
dinner parties or meals at your favourite restaurant… We can cope with that but…

…how do we cope with beauty clinics being closed and left alone to deal our skin and our out
of control hair growing everywhere!. No more popping in for a laser, hydrafacial or hifu
treatment, at least for now.

Well if you can’t come to the clinic, the clinic will have to come to you!.

We have prepared an essential beauty list for you so you can give yourself some well-
deserved pampering and care.

We asked all our clinicians to share their favourite homemade recipes for skincare. The great
news is all the ingredients can be found in your fridge!

So, let the pampering begin!

First, Exfoliation!

Before each mask or treatment, you should start with proper exfoliation.“; says our expert
clinician Anna from our Clapham clinic.

But why exfoliation is important?

Anna continued “Good exfoliation removes the dead skin cells clogging the skin and reveals
fresh new cells below. Getting rid of the dead skin leaves your skin looking fresh and
healthy. And more importantly, good exfoliation opens the way for your skin masks,
moisturisers or other beauty products to penetrate your skin more deeply. And you can
benefit more from your beauty treatment.

Anna has a simple yet effective recipe for skin exfoliation at home. All you need is 2
ingredients. To prepare your face before all the masks, you should mix;

  • honey
  • sugar

and make a nice skin scrub. Exfoliate your skin with this mixture and wash off with lukewarm water. Thank you for the skincare tip, Anna!

Fab Facial For Open Pores

There are many causes of large open pores. Such as :

  • reduced elasticity around pores
  • reduction of collagen production in the skin
  • ageing
  • makeup
  • hygiene
  • genetics

And as we know, open pores may cause acne and other skin imperfections.

But with this next amazing homemade mask, you can reduce the size of your open pores and
give your skin the perfect look it needs.

Magda our skincare expert from our Soho clinic gave us this super effective and easy to make
face-mask for open pores. It was passed down to her by her mother in Poland and she was
sworn to secrecy to never reveal the recipe, to anyone, ever….until now, so thanks Magda!

It works miracles and is already one of our favourites.
Ingredients for the face mask to eliminate open pores;

  • 1 Egg white
  • 1 lemon

1. Separate the egg white from the yolk (you can use an empty plastic bottle to do this.
Just crack the egg into a bowl, squeeze the empty bottle, place the bottle opening over
the yolk. When you release your grip the yolk will be sucked inside the bottle and you
can separate it from the egg white)

2. Whisk together the egg white with lemon juice until the mixture becomes a foam

3. Put the mask on your face for 10-15 mins

4. Wash off with lukewarm water

Results are immediate. You can make this mask 1-2 times a week.

Fantastic Facial for Hydrating the skin

Hydration is the key when it comes to healthy skin. If your skin is hydrated, it will look more
plump and youthful. Hydration also helps your skin to improve elasticity which reduces the
appearance of wrinkles.

Dehydrated skin produces more oil due to lack of moisture. Which leads to many skin
problems.

And when your skin is fully hydrated, it can flush out toxins more effectively while your skin
cells are functioning at their best.

These next recipes are coming from Lana from our Liverpool Street clinic. They explain the
generations of beauty in her family!

Ingredients for a skin hydration mask;

  • Half an avocado
  • cocoa powder
  •  Honey

1. Mash the avocado and mix with the rest of the ingredients
2. Leave the mask on for 10-15 mins
3. Remove mask with warm water.

Another fantastic recipe for hydration and brightening;

  • Banana
  • Orange juice
  • Honey

1. Mash the banana, mix up with the rest of the ingredients
2. Apply a thick layer on face and keep for 15-20 mins
3. Remove with warm water

Thanks for sharing Lana, they sound good enough to eat!.

A Facial to fight acne

Acne occurs when the pores of the skin get blocked with oil, dead skin or bacteria. It usually
appears with:

  • Blackheads
  • Whitehead
  •  pimples
  •  oily skin
  • possible scarring

But this easy to make treatment will help you reduce your acne and improve your skin. We
will always be grateful to Ilona from our Liverpool Street Clinic for this amazing skin tip.

Ingredient for face mask against acne

  • Aspirin (5 tablets crashed)
  •  1tbs honey

1. Mix both ingredients until having a smooth texture
2. Keep on face for 10 mins
3. Massage before rinsing off with water

For acne-prone skin

“Prevention is as important as the treatment”; is Lana’s skincare motto.
Acne-prone skin has the potential to develop comedones and pimples. It is often oily and
appears shiny. With this natural homemade face-mask, Lana shared, you can reduce the
likelihood of having acne on your skin.

Ingredients for acne-prone skin mask

  •  honey
  • cinnamon powder

1. Finely mix ingredients
2. Apply a thick layer and leave until dry
3. Remove with warm water

A facial to tackle Under eye puffiness

Maybe you have had one too many late nights getting through the latest series on Netflix or
up late chatting to friends with a glass of wine or two. Under eye puffiness or bags under eyes
commonly appear at any age. It gets worse the older you get though.

With ageing, the tissues around your eyes, including some of the supporting muscles around
eyelids get weaker. The fat that is supporting the eyes moves into the lower eyelids and it
causes the puffiness around eyes.

Our skincare expert Anna from our Clapham clinic shares her secret for under eye puffiness.
Every evening place two tablespoons into your freezer. In the morning, after cleaning your
face, use the cold spoons using outwards movements focusing on eyes to increase blood
circulation and reduce puffiness. For best results make sure to do it every morning for 5-10
mins.

After the skin exercise, don’t worry if your skin gets red. That only means that it’s working!
Also make sure that your curtains are closed and no one is around as they may think you lost
the plot!

We hope you enjoy these recipes from our clinicians. Go ahead and give them a try. We
would love to hear from you about your homemade skincare recipes. Email us or join our
new facebook group, or Social media, to share them. If Magda can break years of family
secrets, so can you!.

If you have always had questions about your skin, why not take advantage of the lockdown
and give us a call and speak to an expert advisor. We are offering free e-consultations for you
to ask all your skin related questions to our experts, send pictures in and have them looked
over  and analysed.

Stretch Mark Removal For Men

Stretch Mark Removal For Men

Men do you want to get rid of your stretch marks?.

The good news is something can be done, the bad news is – don’t expect miracles.

Treating stretch marks has come a long way recently. The old advice recommended you to apply natural oils like almond, olive or coconut.

Today stretch marks on men can be treated using the latest laser, radio frequency, sonar and light technology.  This new technology can greatly reduce their appearance so you are not so self conscious of them.

Gym, Bodybuilding & Lifting Stretch Marks

Have you have worked hard adding lean muscle mass, hitting the gym regularly and sweating buckets doing your boring cardio?.

Then watching everything that passes your lips as you know abs are made in the kitchen not gym. You have avoided sweet treats like deserts, cakes and biscuits and religious stuck to your strict clean diet – day in and day out, week after week?.

As much as you like the ‘new you’ looking back at you in the mirror all this has come at a cost.

Stretch marks!…

…and in the back of your mind those annoying stretch marks seem to be taunting you trying to take the shine of your hard won achievements!.

Dieting or weight gain

Alternatively, maybe instead of stacking on the muscle you decided to do something about your weight.

Not recognising the person staring back at you in the mirror every morning you took the bull by the horns. You started to watch what you eat. Tried a new diet. And after months of cast iron discipline you transformed yourself. Revealing the person you know was hiding underneath the layers of fat many months ago.

The only problem once again – stretch marks!.

So what is the answer ?

Is there an answer ?

Will laser, creams, argan or bio oil remove your stretch marks ?

Whatever the cause it is reassuring to know that today something can be done to remove unsightly stretch marks.  Technology, as mentioned earlier, has come a long way, and it is technology we turn to for the answer.  Not creams , oils or butters.

But first a bit of background about stretch marks.

What Exactly Are Stretch Marks ?

The medical term for stretch marks is striae distensae, but most people call them stretch marks. They are red or darker, jagged marks. They can sometimes be a source of irritation. Stretch marks are considered a form of skin scarring – which sounds scary !

They can occur when someones skin gets stretched or shrinks rapidly.  This affects the collagen and elastin in the skin that has become damaged and stretch marks can appear due to self healing process of the skin.

If you notice new stretch marks your stretch marks may be purple or red jagged lines or darker brown lines depending on your ethnicity and skin tone. The skin may feel raised or bumpy.

Gradually stretch marks will fade and enter a second stage. At this second stage stretch marks usually have no colour to them as the red or darker pigment has faded and they may feel lower than the surrounding skin.

Stretch Marks Prevention In Men

As you know it is not only women that get stretch marks!.

This may be because stretch marks are normally talked about and associated with women during pregnancy where their bodies undergo a massive change (and stretch) in a very short time. Men are no less self conscious about stretch marks then women and the impact can be equally devastating and harmful to a healthy body image.

What Common Causes Stretch Marks in men?

There is no one exact cause for stretch marks. The medical profession think stretch marks are a combination of many factors including :

  1. Genetics
  2. Hormones
  3. Changes to skin cells
  4. Puberty
  5. Weight gain

Many men shoot up in height when they hit puberty and can add several inches in height in a few months. They can also shed baby fat. These sudden and dramatic changes can leave stretch marks behind.

Sadly stretch marks can also be genetic, making it even harder to avoid. If someone in your family has stretch marks, you are more prone to also have them.

Reasons For Stretch Marks In Men Include:

Also If you use corticosteroid creams for a long time such as prescription-strength hydrocortisone for eczema, you may be more likely to see stretch marks as an unwelcome side effect.

Common Areas For Stretch Marks When Training Or Losing Weight

Stretch marks can occur anywhere. If they are because of training they may appear around your shoulders and pecs or at the top of your arms due to your biceps increasing in size and or forearms.

Other common areas are inner thighs where you may have packed on some muscle deadlifting or squatting or the back of your arms on your lats or traps where you may have added muscle on your back.

If your stretch marks are due to losing weight then common areas for them to appear would be upper arms, thighs, belly and chest area.  Loose skin can also occur if the weight loss was dramatic and fast.

Can guys Prevent Stretch Marks Using Oils ?

Like the snake oil salesmen of the wild west hundreds of years ago, there are many products on the market. All claim to magically make your stretch marks disappear or prevent them in the first place.

They promise to reduce or prevent stretch marks in both men and women. Most are highly moisturizing oils that you apply on top of your skin. Ingredients usually include oils such as :

  • Cocoa butter
  • Almond
  • Olive oil
  • Vitamin E
  • Aragan oil
  • Bio oil

Although claims state the appearance of stretch marks will be reduced the evidence is patchy and research and studies show they were not effective in reducing stretch mark appearances.

This doesn’t stop many people claiming the effectiveness of oils and creams. If you decide to try a lotion to maybe reduce the itchiness of fresh stretch marks the American Association of Dermatology suggest the following:

  • Try using products when you first see stretch marks or are itching. Topical products tend not to work well on old stretch marks.
  • Massage the products in as this seems to allow products to work more effectively and use the product consistently over the course of several weeks to months.

stretch mark removal for menHow To Hide Stretch Marks

While lotions and creams may not treat stretch marks, they can reduce some of the itching that occurs when they develop. You can also hide them using self-tanner or a concealer matching your skin tone but this is a temporary solution.

Tanning can make stretch marks appear more obvious, so be careful.  Also make sure that the concealer is a close match to your skin tone as it may look odd if not!.

Concealer can also get quite messy as you may forget it is on and will end up on your clothes or bedsheets!.

What Medical Treatments Are Available For Stretch Marks?

To reduce the appearance of stretch marks a Dermatologist can prescribe hyaluronic acid or vitamin A, which have been known to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. The NHS recommend three treatments for stretch marks which they suggest

“may help make stretch marks look better, but they will not get rid of them”

They include:

  • Retinoid (often called tretinoin) creams or hyaluronic acid as mentioned above – These might help on newly formed stretch marks.
  • Light or laser treatments we offer a number at Premier Laser clinic including Ultracel, Dermapen or HIFU and recently mesotherapy which has been used to tackle stretch marks but it still very much in the experimental phase.
  • Finally the NHS recommend microdermabrasion, which removes a thin layer of skin and is just like exfoliating the skin which we believe not be very effective in the long run.

These treatments are not available on the NHS as stretch marks generally are not a life or death matter, so you would need to find a clinic.

If you are interested in speaking to someone about your stretch marks and find out what options are available to you, you can book a free consultation with one of our experienced practitioners who will listen to your concerns and give you advice and recommendations.

Does Laser Stretch Mark Removal Work ?

There are many treatments on the market today which can be used to attack your stretch marks.  People have used laser or radio frequency and have been impressed with the results and the reduction in appearance of stretch marks.

The three most popular treatments on the market today are listed below. It can be confusing to know the difference between treatments so we will briefly describe each one so you will have a better understanding :

  • Dermapen

Dermapen skin needling creates micro-injuries to the skin which trigger your body to produce the growth of fibroblast cells which stimulate the production of collagen improving the skin. Dermapen skin needling lets the skin repair itself after it has gone through damage like stretch marks, cuts, scars or any other physical damage.

So by damaging your skin in a safe and controlled way your skin will destroy the old, damaged tissue that causes stretch marks and will replace it with freshly produced collagen.

Dermapen skin needling treats can treat many parts of the body including the abdomen, legs, arms, and hands. It can safely treat all forms of scars like acne or surgery scars, abdominal scars, stretch marks, burn contracture scars and also loose body skin.

  • Radiofrequency Using Ultracel

Using radio frequency as part of a treatment plan ULTRAcel offers three treatments in one. Firstly it uses a high intensity focused ultrasound which targets the SMAS skin layer creating a micro injury like the Dermapen which creates a healing process that involves tightening and lifting the skin.

The second part uses Grid Fractional Radio Frequency, or GFR. This stage applies heat to the dermis and epidermis, which smooths and creates new collagen.

The third part is Fractional Radiofrequency Microneedling. This uses both microneedling and radiofrequency to help generate collagen production that your body really needs to heal stretch marks.

For older stubborn stretch marks microneedling is an effective way to deal with them. Using a series of tiny needles which makes it sound far more painful then it actually is!, the skin is penetrated, which leads to the added collagen your skin needs to repair those stretch marks. Treatment time is quick makes it an ideal option as there is little downtime too.

  • Ultrasound

Ultrasound technology made popular in the aesthetics world by Ultraformer HIFU is a high intensity focused ultrasound tool that is non-invasive quick and simple to perform. It is simply placed on the area where the stretch marks are like biceps, inner thighs, or pectoral muscles.

The energy targets and penetrate through to the lowest layers of the dermis and heat is generated. This pushes the collagen production rejuvenating the problem areas. After a single treatment you will start to notice results.

Male model on green backgroundCan You Prevent Stretch Marks?

As the saying goes prevention is better then cure.  But if your stretch marks are the side effects of puberty, weight loss or the results of months of blood, sweat and gut busting in the gym then this isn’t reassuring to hear.

There is no magic pill, the best advice to prevent more stretch marks in the future is to maintain a healthy weight avoiding rapid weight gain or loss as this will reduce the skin stretching, leading to stretch marks.

If you’re concerned about the appearance of stretch marks, talk to your GP who can refer you to a dermatologist who can recommend treatment options and prevention measures discussed above or you can visit a private clinic like Premier Laser for a free consultation to talk over your skin concerns.

Best Cure For Stretch Marks ?

So as you can see there is a lot to know about the humble stretch mark. If you already have them, hopefully you will have learnt how to prevent them and discovered ways to manage them.

It is  unfair that stretch marks appear like an unwelcome and uninvited guest, gate crashing a party, especially if it is on the back of your hard work in the gym or diet or if you just inherited genes making you prone to them.

Cost of treating stretch marks

The cost of treating stretch marks will depend on which treatment you choose to go for and how many session you need. Stretch marks removal well to a course of treatments so expect to pay for more then one session. Buying a course of treatments works out better value then buying individual sessions.

  • Prices for microneedling start at £183
  • Prices for Rf microneedling £270
  • HIFU Ultrafomer also starts from £270

ULTRAcel for Mummy Tummy

Your new little bundle of joy has finally arrived. Not only are you sleep deprived, frazzled, and down to your last possible nerve, but you also have yet another problem thanks to that beautiful baby – mummy tummy. Lots of new mums suffer from that frustrating, sagging loose skin filled with stretch marks after the baby arrives. After all, your body had to gain at least fifteen pounds over the course of nine months, and that can be difficult on your skin. What can you do to fight the results? Sure, you could spend hours in the gym doing crunches, but the reality is that wont always help the loose skin. ULTRAcel is one of the best options we have available to help you fight that mummy tummy.

ULTRAcel offers three treatments in one. The first is a high intensity focused ultrasound. That helps to target the SMAS skin layer, then create thermal wounds, which pushes your body to begin a healing process that involves tightening and lifting the skin. Part two is Grid Fractional Radio Frequency, or GFR for short. It applies heat to the dermis and epidermis, which can smooth the collagen and create new collagen. Fractional Radiofrequency Microneedling is part three. It uses microneedling and radiofrequency to help create the collagen production your body really needs now to heal those stretch marks.

Not sure Ultracel will work for you? We also offer a couple of other great choices as well.

Ultraformer HIFU – This is a high intensity focused ultrasound tool that is both simple and non-invasive. The applicator is simply placed on the area you’d like to tighten, then the energy targets the lowest layers of the dermis, which generates heat. That can push the collagen production, which rejuvenates the problem areas. After a single treatment, that mummy tummy will have almost completely disappeared.

Radiofrequency Microneedling – If you’re concerned about the stretch marks you still see, this is perhaps the best way to deal with them. Using a series of tiny needles, the skin is penetrating, which leads to the added collagen your skin needs to repair those stretch marks. The treatment time is quick, which makes it the perfect option if you’re looking to get in and get back to baby sooner.

Surgery doesn’t have to be your only option after the baby arrives. Instead, you can use one of these treatments to help you deal with the saggy, loose skin and stretch marks. Contact us today to learn more.

Stretch Marks: Why Do We Have Them – And How Do We Remove Them?

What are stretch marks? Frustrating! Irritating! Pesky! All of the above. These stripes or streaks of skin can be a source of discomfort – not physically, but not everyone is comfortable showing their stretch marks. What causes stretch marks, and more importantly, what can you do to remove them?

The Why

Stretch marks are aptly, if not creatively, named. They develop when the skin is stretched too quickly. The dermis tears, and under layers of skin show through. Now, skin is designed to stretch to accommodate growth; stretch marks occur when growth happens too rapidly.

This is why you’ll see them during puberty, pregnancy or when people gain or lose weight rapidly. Stretch marks may also be the result of certain medical conditions (e.g. Cushing’s Syndrome) or with long-term use of corticosteroids. They can appear on the abdomen, breasts, hips, buttocks, thighs and/or the side between the ribs and hip.

When they first make their appearance, stretch marks can be raised and red, pink, purpose, red-brown or dark brown in colour. Eventually, they flatten and turn silvery.

The Why Do I Have to Put Up with Them?

You don’t! Today’s technological advances have enabled practitioners to help you remove stretch marks effectively. The best options:

Ultraformer HIFU: Through this revolutionary – and noninvasive – microneedling procedure, high intensity focused ultrasound energy is introduced to the lower layers of the dermis. Low level heat is generated, which stimulates the production and regeneration of collagen. This vital protein gives skin its resilience and can help eliminate stretch marks – as well as tighten and firm the skin.

Dermapen: Microneedling may sound intimidating – but it’s your stretch marks that ought to be afraid! This treatment creates miniscule “micro wounds” in the skin, promoting the development of collagen.

Infini: Infini combines microneedling with RF technology. Concentrated radio frequency is delivered to the target area, spurring the production of resiliency-giving collagen and elastin. The microneedles allow you to bypass the first layer and get to the dermis without traumatising the skin.

Which option is right for you? Talk to our expert team to learn how you can say goodbye to stretch marks.

Your Skin After Pregnancy

Most mothers, after having delivered their bundle of joy, notice some repercussions of the birth process to their skin.  Some may think you just have to live with this “new normal” way that your skin has begun to look. However, there are many great treatments that can take your skin, and particularly your tummy, back to the way it used to be before you gave birth.

Woman running summerDiet and exercise

Of course before you look into any treatment we would recommend that you are following a healthy lifestyle (as much as you can with a newborn baby!). And that you are active or exercising and eating good nutritious food. This will make any treatments you consider more effective. As much a you want to get back into your old shape, there is no magic pill or overnight cure. Think of the treatments as part of on-going process that will make you look good and feel good.

HIFU Skin Tightening

HIFU skin tightening is a revolutionary skin tightening treatment, which can work wonders on tightening and lifted the common ‘mummy tummy’ so many women face after having children. After pregnancy, the skin surrounding the stomach area tends to lose some of its elasticity. HIFU skin tightening, using Ultraformer technology, tightens loose skin on the stomach, thighs, and just under the buttocks.

The applicator is placed along your problem area(s) and the ultrasound energy from the applicator destroys fat cells, whilst your body stimulates new collagen production.  The outcome is smooth and restored skin in just under an hour and with minimal pain involved.

Cryolipolysis Fat Reduction

Cryotherapy fat freezing

A number of processes are available to help with getting a mother’s body back into shape after the birth of a child.  Cryolipolysis procedures can help with stubborn areas of fat that will not relent, even when you have practised diet and exercise with vigour.

Cryolipolysis uses freezing technology to target your most problematic areas.  When fat cells are frozen, they crystallise and die.  Your body will then process those dead cells, leaving your shape sculpted and contoured.

Often, a lipotripsy package is added to spur the natural drainage process and get the desired results even quicker.  Two applicators can be used during the treatment, targeting two problem areas at one time

Dermapen/INFINI™

Stretch marks after the birth of a child can be hard to deal with.  There might seem like there’s just no way to get rid of them.  But, you needn’t worry anymore, as we have two great treatments that can help to reduce stretch marks. Using either the INFINI™ 3D Skin Tightening therapy or our micro-needling treatment Dermapen we can help to restore your skin to how it looked pre-pregnancy.

With the combined therapies used in the INFINI™ treatment, you will see maximum results with minimal downtime afterwards.  It uses 3D technology and micro-needling to get the fullest degree of benefits for your skin.

Tiny micro-holes are made with tiny needle tips that are precisely placed to let in the radio frequencies needed to stimulate collagen and elastin production.  This precision ensures your skin’s dermis (second layer) is not damaged in any way.

With the Dermapen, micro skin needling has been revolutionised for safe, more effective, and less painful results.  It makes navigating across the skin easier and is able to get more accurate penetration to the points in your skin that will make the most difference.  Also, if you have scar tissue where the micro needle should be placed, the Dermapen can easily penetrate those skin cells through it’s vertical delivery system.

Next Steps

A special note to mothers:  the majority of these procedures cannot be performed while breastfeeding.  We take the overall health of our patients very seriously.  When you are ready to seek treatment, we will be right here with the latest innovative technologies to help.

Non-Surgical Face Lifts really are for everyone

A person’s neck area is often problematic and can be one of the first areas prone to show signs of being overweight or the ageing process.  No one “likes” the look of having a double-chin.  Surgery is not the remedy most people seek first.  There are other treatments to help you get the smooth, youthful neck with an even skin tone you are seeking.

HIFU Skin Tightening

HIFU Ultraformer

With minimal downtime and a procedure that typically lasts less than 60 minutes, the HIFU Skin Tightening treatment is the leading “non-surgical face lift.”  It’s non-invasive with results lasting up to one year.  With the Ultraformer non-surgical contouring system, you can be on a safe, efficient, and relatively easy path to getting a youthful face back.  This process is great for tightening and with the results, you will no longer feel restricted to high neck tops!

Better yet, HIFU skin tightening can be used not only on the face and neck areas, but on other parts of your body as well.  Who doesn’t want to get rid of that sagging skin on your arms?  You can also tighten skin on the stomach, thighs, and beneath the buttocks.

Infini 3D Skin Tightening

The amazing technology used with the INFINI™ combines therapies which maximize the skin tightening process.  The innovative 3D radio frequency and micro-needling treatment helps resurface your skin through enhanced production of the natural collagen and elastin in your skin.  Pulsating micro-needles make micro-channels to deliver the energy from the radio frequency into your skin, triggering collagen production.  It is a non-surgical procedure with minimal downtime which focuses on the second layer of skin (the dermis) to offer the maximum positive results possible.  It is wonderful for not only skin tightening and smoothing of the skin’s surface but also for removal of acne scars and stretch marks.  It can also help with reducing wrinkles and pore sizes.

Dermapen Micro Skin Needling

Micro needling the skin with Dermapen is a pain-free treatment that promotes natural skin rejuvenation which results in more even skin tone.  It also aids the skin tightening process, fights sun damage, and enables a more vibrant and youthful skin glow to be restored.  It can get rid of stretch marks, traces of acne, pock marks, and scars.  Even after just one treatment, you will notice a difference in the way your skin looks and feels.  Improvements to your skin tone will be noticeable.  Four to six treatments are recommended for the majority of patients, about one month apart.

When looking for ways to improve the overall look and well-being of your skin, most people seek treatments that are non-surgical.  If you’d like to talk to one of our practitioners to find out what the best treatment would be to help with your concerns, then book a free consultation with us today!

HIFU: A Quick Guide

When you see a teenager, what makes her look young? What makes you feel old when you look in the mirror? Often the difference between that teenage face and yours is the sagging skin, and it’s a natural process you can’t always avoid.  As you age, your collagen levels diminish, and that means wrinkles and sagging skin that was once only dealt with thanks to a facelift. Now, though, there are new treatments available to tackle that problem and help your skin look as young as it did when you were still in school. It’s called HIFU.

Understanding the Process

HIFU is also sometimes called a non-surgical face lift, and for good reason. It helps to contour your skin and change the way you look on a daily basis. It begins with a comprehensive consultation. On appointment day, we’ll cleanse your skin, then apply a gel. The Ultraformer then be applied to your skin, across the area you’d like to tighten. As it works across your skin, it generates a thermal effect, which helps your body begin to repair the collagen and produce more to tighten the area.

You may feel a bit of bruising and tenderness after the procedure, but it generally isn’t painful. HIFU treatments last anywhere from twenty to forty minutes, depending on how large the treatment area is.

As with many of our other treatments, there is no downtime following your HIFU. You might see slight redness for an hour or so directly afterwards, but you don’t have to worry about a long recovery time.

How Soon Will I Notice the Difference?

Your skin will feel a bit tighter directly after the procedure, however you will see the best skin results after three months. Top-up treatment can also be arranged to enhance the results further in future.

Your Essential Wedding Skin Guide

The big day is coming fast, and you want to look nothing short of amazing. Fortunately, there are a number of things you can do to make that happen, and it starts as soon as you get engaged. Take a look at this skin care guide to help keep you on track to becoming the beautiful, blushing bride you’ve been seeing in your dreams.

A Year Before Your Wedding

It may seem like you have quite a bit of time on your hands, but the reality is that it’s coming faster than you think. One of the first procedures you’ll want to schedule is laser hair removal. If you want to see the maximum reduction in hair growth, it can take up to six sessions, and those have to be spaced at least four weeks apart. Wondering where you might want laser hair removal? Consider how that bikini line might look on your honeymoon. You might also want to finally eliminate underarm hair, leg hair, or even problem facial hair.

Tattoo removal starts as soon as you get engaged too. If you have a tattoo you’re embarrassed about, or simply one you don’t want showing when you don that gorgeous dress, we can help, but it’s going to take some time. Professional tattoos usually take four to six treatments to remove, and treatments have to be scheduled at least six weeks apart.

Acne scarring is one other issue you may want to address right after you get engaged. It will help both your engagement photos and your wedding pictures look fantastic. Dermapen Microneedling is the best way to eliminate the scarring. This innovative treatment pushes the skin to release collagen, which means a complete elimination of the scars you’ve dealt with for so long. Depending on the severity of the scars, though, it may take several treatments to see real results.

Six Months Before the Wedding

Carbon Facial

Still dealing with acne on a regular basis? That’s the last thing  you want your guests to see, and a Spectra Carbon Peel, also sometimes called the Hollywood Peel, you can put a stop to the problem. Body Contouring! The hottest new trend

Contouring is a trend that isn’t set to go away for a long while. YouTube is full of tutorials aimed at facial contouring tutorials with a variety of brushes and shades. But what about your body? With spring finally here, people are focusing more on getting their beach bodies, and there isn’t anything makeup can do about that! Enter body contouring as the solution for targeted, beautiful results.

While facial contouring is all about illusion through quality cosmetics, body contouring goes beyond dieting to sculpting the body to your perfect shape. Worried about invasive surgery? There is no need to be concerned. These treatments help you achieve the look you want without the downtime of surgery.

Starting out with healthy diet and lifestyle ensures maximum results; no treatment will ever replace the need to stay healthy. Hydration is also key for a lot of bodily functions, and without proper hydration, sometimes the body will hold onto water, giving you a bloated feeling and look.

Where body contouring helps are areas that often diet and exercise just cannot target – we are talking about your love handles, the inner thighs, stubborn stomach areas, under the top of the arms and the back of your thighs beneath your buttocks. If that is the case, then you would do well to experience Cryotherapy Fat Reduction, which targets stubborn fat cells. Dieting and weight loss can shrink fat cells, but they don’t actually go anywhere. Cryotherapy delivers controlled fat freezing technology to specifically targeted areas, crystalising the fat cells and causing them to breakdown. Once your body processes these fat cells, only the sculpted results are left behind! One treatment results in the permanent inch loss.

Another issue exercise and diet cannot resolve is the issue of loose skin. In some cases, the skin left behind after serious weight loss or due to ageing can be very difficult to tighten. There is no exercise routine that can shrink skin that has been stretched out and many people worry that surgery is the only option to tighten skin. Enter HIFU Skin Tightening treatment. Using ultrasound to penetrate deep into the skin, heat is applied, causing the skin to tighten and leaving a firmer, leaner appearance. No surgery required!

Spring is a great excuse to get the body you really deserve or to sculpt those areas that are just not responding to exercise after all your hard work. No illusions or fancy makeup required!
