Best winter skin treatments

Sunshine leaves us earlier…
Roads get frosty early in the morning…
And now you can see your breath outside….

Say hello to winter.

During the colder months, our bodies go through many changes to adapt to the weather and to help us survive this season easier. Our metabolism works faster to keep us warm. Less water is stored in our bodies as there is less heating on the body less sweating. Also, we loose some of the natural moisture we have on our skin due to the cold and dry weather.

Winter skincare, by nature, should be different than your summer skincare. As the needs of your skin will change, the routines should chance too. And what about the clinical level of your skincare?

We’ve listed you the best 3 most popular skin treatments for the winter.

Dermapen Microneedling for winter

Dermapen Microneedling is an amazing treatment to help you to get rid of your skin imperfections. It creates controlled wounds on your skin and promotes its own healing process. Because the wounds on your skin are not actual wounds, your skin overcorrects the area and you end up erasing the last few year’s effects from your skin.

One of the most important parts during your dermapen treatment is after you had the treatment you need to stay away from the sun exposure for 1-2 weeks. During this time your skin healing process will be working actively and if you would get any suntan during this time, it may cause unwanted pigmentation and skin marks.

Dermapen microneedling treatment is performed in different settings. If it is your first time having the treatment, your practitioner will use the lower settings. This means the tiny needles will penetrate your skin 0.5-1mm. If you are having dermapen microneedling treatment regularly, then your practitioner can increase the level up to 2-2.5. The severity of your treatment will also be depending on your skin type and condition. If your skin thin and your skin condition is not too severe, your practitioner will prefer lower settings. The higher settings you get your treatment will give you bigger skin shedding after. If you are having a high setting treatment, sunshine will have more effect on your skin. So if you are suffering from some serious acne, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles or pigmentation; winter is the best time to have your course of dermapen treatment.

Dermapen microneedling is one of our invasive skin treatments as, during your treatment, tiny needles will punctuate your skin to create micro-tears. Because of this, after your treatment, you can feel hot, tingling and a mild burning sensation on your skin. Most of our clients prefer having their dermapen microneedling treatments during the winter times as the colder weather is making the time after the process easier.

Hydrafacial for winter

Hydrafacial is one of our most popular treatments. It is non-invasive. Cleans and clears your skin, hydrates and gives you the immediate red carpet glow right after your treatment.
As we’ve mentioned during the winter times, your skin doesn’t store as much water as summer times. This way your body spends less energy to warm you up, as there isn’t an antra litre of water stored that it needs to heat up. Also, as cold air is less humid, your skin gets dried from outside as well as inside.
Hdyrafacial treatment provides your skin with the hydration it needs. Even though you change your skincare during the winter and you start using more oil-based moisturisers for a stronger effect, no skincare cream can reach the benefit of Hydrafacial.
With the winter season, we also experience higher pollution in the air. This pollution gathers on your skin and fills up your pores. This can then cause acne, blackheads or other skincare problems. With its cleaning and extracting formula, Hydrafacial will help you to get rid of the effects of winter pollution.
Winter times are also when we experience the most undereye puffiness. As days are shorter, we do use more artificial lights and it tires our eyes. This is one of the reasons for black under eyes or undereye puffiness. With the lymphatic drainage, which is the first step of Hydrafacial treatments, you can get rid of your undereye puffiness and can have a more refreshed look.

Skin peels for winter

We all have different skin needs but one thing is for sure, during the winter we need to take better care of our skin to make sure it doesn’t dry up. Otherwise, it can get patchy in a short time. And can get more fine lines and wrinkles in the long term.
At Premier Laser & Skin we offer many skin peels that would be suitable for your skin and it will provide what your unique skin type and condition would require.
With the correct skin peel to your skin type and condition, you can get rid of your acne problems, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, increase hydration, and give your skin its regular care.
If you don’t know which skin peel is the most suitable for you, you can speak to our skin experts. They will offer you the correct bespoke skin peel for your unique results, and help you to achieve your skin goals.

Happy Halloween with Dermapen Vampire Facial Needling

Halloween is just around the corner. It is time to see some blood!

If you haven’t try dermapen microneedling before, this is the best time for it!

What is Dermapen microneedling and why does it make me bleed?

As living mechanisms, our bodies always work to repair any problems. Think about when you get a cut or a bruise. Your body will use all its power to fix the problem. Stop the bleeding, cover the cut and polish the surface.
But that is not all! It also keeps renewing itself to make sure all our organs are working perfectly, they are fresh and young and working to full potential.

As our largest organ, skin also takes lots of time to fix and renew constantly. This renewal is done with some helpful enzymes such as collagen.

However, by the time we age, our metabolism gets slower with the routine renewals. Hence we start to get wrinkles and fine lines on our skin. And some scars don’t get fixed as quick or perfect as it used to.

It’s not because your body doesn’t want to keep you as refreshed as before, but now it has more things it needs to fight against such as stress, bad eating habits, pollution and so on.

But we don’t have to just accept this and go on with our lives. We can actually trick our bodies to bring back its glory days!

How? By causing artificial scars to make our skin work on.

When our skin sees a cut or a scar, it gives special attention to the area to fix the problem. And even after fixing it, our skin makes sure to keep the helpful enzyme production to the maximum on the area for a good while.

How does Dermapen Microneedling work?

Dermapen microneedling creates tiny artificial scars on the top layer of your skin. These scars are created with very thin needles penetrating the skin very quickly and in a controlled manner.

Even though these artificial scars are not really scars and won’t cause any problems on your skin, your metabolism considers it as a threat and provides extra resources to fix the problem.

Although as we said there is not really a problem!

So your skin overcorrects the area and leaves you with a better looking and younger appearance.

In a nutshell, dermapen tricks your skin to wake up and work like it used to!
So much for tricks and treats, right?

If you would like to learn more about the science behind it and see if your skin is suitable for dermapen treatment, book a FREE consultation now and speak to one of our skin experts.

How much blood is there going to be after Dermapen treatment?

Dermapen microneedling has different depth and speed settings that will be arranged by your practitioner depending on your skin type and condition.

While 0.25mm depth on lower speed will mainly cause a little redness on your skin, 2.5mm will probably cause some bleeding.

But anything for beauty, right?

Do not worry! As we previously mentioned, the treatment is completely safe and your experts will be only using the appropriate settings on your skin. And then again the traumas created on our skin are not actual scars.

It is normal to have some discomfort after your treatment but if you experience any side effects or constant discomfort, you can contact your clinic and your experts will further examine your skin and make sure you reach your skin goals in the most comfortable way.

The whole dermapen process

Before starting your dermapen treatment, your clinician will give you a full consultation and ask you about your main skin concerns. They will also explain to you the whole process and answer any of your questions.

Dermapen microneedling process takes around 30-45 mins. As it is a relatively painful treatment, your clinician will offer you some numbing cream before the treatment.

If you prefer to have numbing cream, you will definitely have a much comfortable treatment and won’t feel anything.

If you skip the numbing cream, dermapen can promote a better blood flow however the treatment can be a bit uncomfortable.

If you prefer to have the numbing cream, you will be asked to wait for 30 mins for the cream to show its full effect. Meanwhile, you can relax in the treatment room.

After 30 mins your clinician will come to the room and check your skin on different areas to make sure the cream was effective in all areas. If you have thicker skin, they might wait further 10 mins to better penetration.

After clearing the cream off of our skin, your clinician will clean your face with alcohol-based solutions. This is to protect your skin from any bacterias entering during the treatment while the needles are penetrating your skin.

After cleaning the whole face, they will apply the special gel and start the procedure. The microneedling tips are for single use. And your clinician will open yours from its new package whilst showing you.

During your treatment, your clinician will constantly ask you how you are feeling to make sure you are comfortable.

They will go through all the areas multiple times on different angles and movements for the best results with the dermapen. Also, during the treatment, your practitioner can change the depth and the speed of the dermapen depending on the facial area. Some areas on our face have thinner skin and can only tolerate lighter settings, or doesn’t need deep penetration. Or if there are any specific scars or imperfections, your clinician can specifically focus on those areas for maximum benefit.

After your treatment, they will apply Hyaluronic serum on the face to improve the treatment effects with higher absorption. After the serum, they will apply a special face mask where you can only get in the clinic with professional treatments. This mask will hydrate your skin and promote the recovery.

After the mask, your clinician will apply SPF to your skin and inform you about the aftercare.

Your skin might look a little red for 2-3 days after the day depending on the severity of your treatment. But once the redness is gone, you will see the amazing results on your skin.

Microneedling – the solution to stretchmarks

Can microneedling help remove stretch marks?

Across our 8 London clinics we are noticing more men and women are turning to microneedling to deal with their stretch marks. Stretch marks are most commonly caused by changes in weight and pregnancy and occur when your skin stretches quickly.

what are stretch marks?

Stretch marks rarely cause medical problems but can have a negative impact on your self-esteem and quality of life and are a a major aesthetic concern for some.

They can appear white in colour, lighter brown, or sometimes red depending on your skin tone and can cause some edema or swelling. Mature stretch marks are linear and a type of atrophic scar where the skin heals below the normal level.

stretch marks on stomach

The most common areas for stretch marks

Stretch marks can appear anywhere on the body, most commonly:

  • stomach
  • inner thighs
  • buttocks
  • breasts
  • arms

If they are unsightly and you feel self conscious, there is a solution; a technique called microneedling.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a form of collagen induction therapy. It is a fractional treatment as only a small part of the skin is affected. It is a safe, simple, minimally invasive procedure and effective treatment for a range of conditions from acne to stretch marks and skin rejuvenation. There are now a number of devices available to perform microneedling, ranging from the derma roller to the Dermapen.

Collagen induction therapy

Collagen induction therapy refers to a treatment that stimulates your body to produce collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin are vital for skin health and the production decreases as we age. They give your skin its elastic qualities, strength youthful appearance.

Microneedling and stretch marks

Microneedling is a way of stimulating your body’s healing processes. This heals skin naturally. It makes sense that you might be wary of the idea of subjecting yourself to hundreds of micro wounds, but microneedling is a safe way to use your own body’s natural response to get rid of stretch marks.

Each micro injury created results in your body starting a healing process. This process increases your body’s natural production of collagen and elastin.

These naturally fight the signs of ageing and improve the tone of your skin.

Microneedling has also been used to :

There are a few different approaches that are useful:

Different types of microneedling

We provide the three leading manufacturers of RF microneedling and microneedling technology. They are Ultracel, Infini and Dermapen and are available across our 8 London clinics.

This combines radio frequency microneedling with high intensity, focused ultrasound. The “RF” in Ultracel RF microneedling stands for the radio frequency microneedling device that delivers heat, tightening deeper layers of skin and not just the surface layer.

The high intensity ultrasound is precisely focused to stimulate the growth of collagen. It travels below the top layer of the skin and works at the deeper layers leaving the upper layers of skin for the microneedling. In effect it is a treatment that works on the outside and inside making it a powerful and effective choice.

This is a precise technology where you can customise treatments in a very exact way. Its uses 49 micro needles and can penetrate to 3.5mm. It also takes advantage of radio frequency microneedling to heat and tighten deeper layers of collagen. It’s very useful for eliminating wrinkles and scars for those with darker or more tanned skin tones.

Dermapen microneedling is ideal for a course of treatment designed to repair deep wrinkles, scars, and blotches. It’s the most prolific microneedling approach and is suited for a broad range of skin tightening and tone improvement. Unlike RF microneedling, Dermapen does not send a radio frequency down in to the deeper layers of the skin.

microneedling for stretch marks costs

Depending on the treatment you opt for will determine how much you pay. Expect to pay for a series of treatments rather then one treatment as multiple treatments are often required for best results.

Dermapen microneedling prices start from £183

RF microneedling prices start from £270

Ultracel prices start from £270

Is microneedling safe for stretch mark removal?

Microneedling is safe and is an FDA-approved electronic fractional device. It heals skin naturally and is an ideal way to take years off your look. It can help with imperfections as precise as very fine wrinkles, or as broad as stretch marks.

While adverse reactions are rare, possible side effects include scarring, infection, skin and tissue necrosis, herpes simplex outbreak, hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation. Any skin colour changes normally fades within 6 months, but in rare instances could be permanent. This reaction is more common if you have a darker skin tones.

microneedling aftercare

Straight after the procedure your skin will feel tighter, maybe swollen, drier and sensitive to the touch. It’ll also look and feel sunburned.

Sensitivity and redness reduce within 24 hours. You may also experience itching, bleeding or bruising, scabbing, and the treated area may darken. Your skin may feel like rough like sandpaper but this should only last 2-7 days as your skin flakes off, being replaced by new tissue.

Avoid the sun following treatment as it can worsen the treated area. Avoiding direct sun exposure both before and after treatment.

Is microneedling for me?

Different types of microneedling and courses of treatment are ideal for different people who are looking for it to solve different problems. Your first step if you are thinking about do something about your stretch marks is to speak a skin specialist. That may be your doctor, dermatologist or skin expert at a clinic like ours

Get Summer Ready: Removing Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are simply streaks or stripes on the skin, caused by rapid expansion of the tissue. Pregnancy, hormones, puberty, weight gain… they can all cause these marks. For many people, they are just a fact of life. But does that mean you have to resign yourself to living with them – or even covering up when you are headed to the beach or slipping into your favourite warm weather clothing?

No!

Using today’s most advanced technology, you can get summer-ready. Say “goodbye” to winter – and to stretch marks.

We recommend the following treatments:

ULTRAcel Microneedling

This treatment combines three powerful techniques in one to accomplish a variety of favourable results: lift, tighten, promote collagen production and restructure existing collagen with minimal downtime. No scalpel, no lengthy recovery – just healthy-looking, rejuvenated skin. Your stretch marks don’t stand a chance against ULTRAcel.

You will start to see results immediately, and these will become more apparent over the weeks following treatment. One to three treatments is often recommended.

Now, the big question: does ULTRAcel Microneedling hurt? You may feel slight discomfort. Our trained, experienced practitioners can apply a numbing cream to alleviate this sensation.

Dermapen

The pen is mightier than the scalpel. Dermapen is a cutting edge (no pun intended!) treatment that improves upon previous gen microneedling technology. Stretch Marks are often similar to scar tissue with a thicker texture. Regular microneedle approaches can cause the needles to bend, making the treatment ineffectual and painful.

Dermapen uses a series of needles to penetrate the skin at a vertical angle. This technique is faster, more precise, less uncomfortable and more effective on stretch marks and scarred skin.

ULTRAcel and Dermapen may be the stretch mark answer for which you have been searching. Schedule a consultation so we can answer any questions and determine which option is best for you.

Dare to bare this summer!

Dermapen vs. Dermaroller: Which Treatment Is Right For You?

The good news for those who want to look and feel their best is that there are a host of anti-ageing and skin improvement treatments on the market including Dermaroller and Dermapen.

Finding the right treatment for you

The bad news is with more treatments available then ever before and all claiming to be better then the last how do you choose what is suitable for you?.  As there are so many options available – and of vastly differing quality and effectiveness – it can be difficult to find the right solution.

With each of us being as beautiful and unique as a snowflake there is not a one size fits all approach when it comes to treatments.  If your friend had amazing results with a procedure or everyone on social media is going crazy about a new treatment, sadly this does not mean you will experience the same results.

Factors like

  • age
  • skin type
  • diet
  • lifestyle

all will play a part in which treatment is suitable for you and which will give you the best results.

(We always recommend that you  book a free consultation with our experienced practitioners who can let you know the most effect treatments for the results you’re after.)

dermapen v dermaroller microneedlingDermaroller and Dermapen

Dermapen and Dermaroller are both a form of microneedling which is a form of collagen induction therapy. The Dermaroller device has been around longer then the Dermapen. The Dermapen is an updated electronic version of the Dermaroller which is rolled by hand.

They are both an established proven treatment for a range of conditions so you no longer have to go under the knife and have risky invasive surgical procedures to get the results you’re after.

Treatments and technology have come a long way recently and the results as seen on our website with stunning before and after pictures plus client testimonials, really speak for themselves.

Should you take the plunge and go for the Dernapen? or stick to the traditional method of microneedling with the roller?

Microneedling and Dermapens growing popularity

One of our most popular treatments at Premier Laser is the Dermapen.  Dermarpen uses modern technology to replace the manual Dermarolling technique. When it comes to Dermapen versus Dermaroller microneedling many people often ask us how do you know which technique to choose and which one is more effective?.

Dermaroller v Dermapen

Both Dermaroller and Dermapen are collagen induction therapies; this means they work by creating “micro” wounds in the skin. This is done by small needles puncturing the skin as the roller or device passes over the skin.

If you have been online and seen this treatment being performed it can look quite gruesome as small drops of blood appear on the surface of the skin as the needles pricks the surface. That is why you may have heard it being called the vampire facial.

It looks painful but as you can see by the reactions of clients it is relatively painless – more uncomfortable then anything else.

Dermaroller is more uncomfortable and painful then the Derampen, but we will come on to that shortly.

Both Dermapen  and Dermaroller work by having the micro needles prick the skin which prompts the body to heal and repair itself by producing collagen but that is where the similarities end.

dermapen v dermaroller how to chooseWhat does the Dermaroller do ?

The Dermaroller is a handheld device designed to manually pass over your skin 15 to 20 times in a horizontal, vertical and diagonally way.  This creates microneedle columns (about 0.1 mm wide) that penetrate the skin. The columns close quickly as your body begins producing collagen.

It is a manual procedure as the pen is rolled back and forth and depends on the skill and experience of the practitioner for effective results.

The disadvantages or Dermaroller over Derampen

Although this technique can be effective and has been around for a number of years, it is often quite uncomfortable more so then having the same technique performed by a Dermapen.

  1. Also it is difficult to target small or curved areas (e.g. under the nose)
  2. You risk bending needles when penetrating scarred skin.
  3. You need a highly skilled and experienced practitioner to ensure the best results.
  4. The rolling technique creates crater shaped wounds which are larger and take longer to heal.

This can leave people struggling with scars or issues in areas difficult to reach with the Dermaroller at a loss – that is, until the Dermapen came along!.

The benefits and advantages of Dermapen microneedling

Dermapen is a huge upgrade to Dermaroller. It takes the advantages and benefits of Dermarolling and introduces technological advancements that makes it even more effective. These include :

  1. There is less damage to the epidermis then if you had the procedure with a Dermaroller which means quicker healing and better results.
  2. You can set the depth of the needle ie how deep you want the needles to penetrate into the skin from starting from 0.1mm.
  3. You are in control of how aggressive you want the treatment to be. Your trained practitioner will discuss your options and advise the best possible depth.
  4. With Dermarolling you can not set the depth as precisely as you can with a Dermapen so this will leave you with potentially uneven results.
  5. Less pain and bleeding as you can set the depth of the needle precisely to penetrate into the skin as mentioned above.
  6. The vertical delivery method ensures that needles won’t bend in thickened tissue and are quicker to heal unlike the larger crater wounds with a roller.
  7. Aesthetic professionals can navigate small and contoured areas easily.
  8. More problem areas can be treated leaving you with a more even finish.
  9. The technique is also a lot faster.
  10. The electronic needle springs up and down thousands of times per minute ensuring that areas covered are evenly treated and quicker.
  11. It prompts greater collagen production, as well as reducing discolouration.

And the winner is…

As you can see Dermapen is

  • easier
  • safer
  • less uncomfortable
  • and more effective

Your results will be more satisfying, not to mention longer-lasting. So there is a clear winner.

By using technology Dermapen has taken an already good technique in Dermarolling and taken in to a new level.

Best Treatments for Scarring

Scars may be caused by acne, surgeries, injuries, burns or scalds. They can be hypertrophic, contracture or Keloid. The reasons people carry scars are as diverse as the individuals themselves, but regardless of the why, many people want to erase the physical reminder of an injury or acne from their faces and bodies. Traditionally, this has been very difficult to do. However, new technologies and treatments make it possible.

The professionals at Premier Laser & Skin understand how important scar treatment is for many people; we are committed to offering the most effective options:

Dermapen Micro Skin Needling. Typical dermarolling can be a great option for scarring, but Dermapen enhances both the experience and the results. A series of microneedles are applied to the skin at a vertical angle, which prevents needles from bending when they encounter scar tissue.

This technique allows for exceptional precision, even around contours, and speeds up the session. And pain? You will be given a topical anaesthetic to help numb the area. Compared to ablative treatments like fractional lasering or laser resurfacing, Dermapen microneedling offers quick recovery and a comfortable price point.

We have recently welcomed Stephen Bear into our clinics for these treatments; the reality TV star was self-conscious about his acne scars, living in the public eye. Dermapen helped him completely clear up his acne scars. Quite remarkable – and you can achieve the same results.

Radio Frequency. They say “Beauty is pain.” And aggressive treatments like Fraxel and Titan certainly live up to that statement. But it does not have to be this way! Our experts use Sublative Rejuvenation; it works inside-out. Instead of overheating the skin, this device delivers gentle heat aimed at the connective tissue. This tissue contracts and lifts and cell growth is stimulated. The result: smoother, youthful looking skin that minimises your scars.

INFINI 3D. This treatment combines three dimensional radio frequency energy with microneedling techniques. The process creates micro-holes in the skin, thus stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. These proteins give skin its elasticity and fullness. Now, INFINI’s precise microneedles leave the epidermis, or the outer skin, alone. Instead, it focuses on the dermis. This produces better and more noticeable results.

If you’re looking to fade your scars, enquire at Premier Laser & Skin , we can help you determine the optimal solution.

Benefits of Microneedling

Microneedling – a treatment that helps minimise the signs of ageing, rejuvenate the skin and improve the appearance of stubborn acne and scars. Better yet it’s minimally invasive and delivers exceptional results. Ready to learn more?

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a popular treatment known as collagen induction therapy. It involves super-fine needles that are applied with an electric device or traditional by a hand rolling device called a dermaroller. The needles can be set at differing depths to penetrate the upper layers of the skin, creating tiny wounds. Why?

The wounds signal to the body that it’s time to heal: causing it to produce collagen and elastin fibres. Collagen gives our skin its strength and elasticity; elastin gives skin its remarkable ability to “bounce back” when pinched or pulled. Both of these can diminish as we age.

Microneedling spurs production of these key elements, promoting fuller, younger-looking skin.

Ideal for acne scarring

If you have ever had acne, maybe as a teenager it may have left your skin with blemishes. The pimples may have left skin indentations and discoloration behind in the form of acne scars changing your complexion and tone and texture.

With microneedling good news is even long term damage can be reversed. Microneedling, using the Dermapen, is the latest advancement in skin rejuvenation and can restore your skins healthy complexion underneath.

A course of 4-6 treatments would be required for best results spread 4-6 weeks apart. Results are noticeable after just one session. Unlike more abrasive laser treatments such as laser resurfacing, Dermapen microeedling can give you many of the same benefits at a lower price.

How deep can microneedling go?

The needles with microneedling can be set at different levels from 0.5mm up 2.5mm. The deeper needles penetrate the skin the more aggressive the treatment. Different needle depths are designed to treat different conditions.

With devices like Dermapen different depths can be used in a single treatment. A low depth can be set to go gently around delicate areas with thinner skin and deeper around other areas.

  • Gentle penetration with 0.5mm depth

This setting will open the skin just long enough for nourishing serums to be effectively absorb. So is a good rejuvenation treatment.

  • Medium penetration 1mm depth

Ideal if you are hoping to address sun damage and light acne scarring. Skin texture and tone is positively effected at this depth

  • Deeper penetration 2.5mm depth

For healing acne scars and stretch marks which require a more aggressive treatment to get results.

11 Benefits of microneedling and why you should at it to you skincare routine

  1. It effectively treats a wide array of skin issues, including acne scarring, surgical scarring, lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, age spots, rosacea and more.
  2. It is minimally invasive. You can have a procedure at a trusted clinic and go about your day.

But as a result, your skin will appear revived and rejuvenated.
  4. Microneedling improves the effectiveness of your everyday beauty products, such as cleansers, lotions and sunscreens.
  5. This procedure is effective on all skin types.
  6. Microneedling is less expensive than many other types of resurfacing treatments.
  7. It is effective on your face, scalp and body.
  8. Reduced wrinkles on the lips or smokers lines
  9. Improves skin texture.

  11. Reduces appearance of stretch marks.

Top Microneedling Treatments

Premier Laser & Skin offers different microneedling options –

In this treatment, thousands of microscopic needs are applied to the skin in horizontal, vertical and oblique directions. Don’t worry: our specialist will start by applying a topical anaesthetic 30 to 45 minutes before the procedure. This typically takes 15 to 20 minutes.

  • Dermapen:

This treatment incorporates new technology to minimise bleeding and pain. Micro-needles penetrate the skin at a vertical angle. This method is faster and can be used in smaller areas and those with contours, making it more effective on the face than dermarolling.

A remarkable option, INFINI 3D Skin Tightening combines microneedling and three-dimensional radio frequency treatments. The needs create micro-holes into which localised radio frequency is introduced. This process tightens and smooths the skin.

Microneedling is one of our most popular treatments across our Premier Laser London clinics.

Microneedling has been around for many years. and is an established part of many peoples skin regimes.

It has traditionally been done by hand with a rolller.  Over the last few years technology has overtaken the hand rolling microneedling method with state of the art devices which deliver better outstanding results.

microneedling with Dermapen

The leading brand is Dermapen. This is the brand we use at Premier Laser. Because of the Dermapen’s popularity many people now call the treatment Dermapen instead of microneedling or micro skin needling!.

We have been performing microneedling with the Dermapenn device for over 5 years at our clinics and we have seen grow in popularity every year.

Like the Hydrafacial, Dermapens popularity has increased partly because of the publicity it gets from celebrities and influencers on social media. This publicity would not go far if it was not backed up by fantastic results.

And Dermapen microneedling delivers results!.

It is proven to be effective for treating stretch marks, acne scarring, pigmentation and a wide range of skin issues. It will leave you with fantastic smooth and rejuvenated skin.

Dermapen Micro Skin Needling is a type of collagen induction therapy. Which means that it makes collagen for your skin. It involves lots of tiny surgical stainless steel needles penetrating the skin thousands of times per minute causing thousands of pain free straight micro injuries.

Precision

Unlike microneedling by hand, with Dermapen you can precisely set the depth of the needles from 0.5 to 2.5mm to penetrate deeply into the skin or just below the surface.

This means you can tailor the treatment to go gentler around thinner parts of the skin, like the eyes, and deeper around thicker areas and areas that need special attention like scarring.

Although needles are used the treatment is pain free. An anaesthetic gel is applied before treatment and this numbs any potential pain.

Why Dermapen is better then the traditional dermaroller?

The Dermapen is a motorised version of the traditional derma roller.  Being motorised means quicker, more precise needle penetration then by the old fashioned dermal roller which is done by hand.

The needles penetrate the skin at the same depth, straight up and down so the micro punctures are all the same size. With hand rolling this can vary and you are more reliant on the skill and expertise of the practitioner doing the dermarolling.

Cleaner wounds, faster healing

Dermarolling also causes different shaped micro injuries as the needles are rolled causing a ‘v’ shaped crater rather then the cleaner straight line the device does.

This will affect healing as the wound is not as clean.

The purpose of the treatment is to increase the collagen production in your skin, which can help scar repair, discolouration and actively replenish and rejuvenate the overall look of the skin.

How Is Dermapen Different To Other Micro Skin Needling Treatments?

Dermapen was revolutionary 5 years ago, and still is in 2020. It takes the science of wound repair and combines it with the already established and effective derma roller. Dermapen has made micro skin needling much more precise, less painful, safer and easier.

The results you get from Dermapen are incredible providing you with faster and  longer lasting results compared to other micro needling treatments.
