Beauty Mascara Magic Tricks Revealed!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Dynamo has wowed crowds all over the world with his magic tricks; however his recent stunt levitating over London’s largest building, the Shard, has come under fire. Dynamo appeared to be levitating over the colossal building which stands at an impressive 306 metres tall, however recent images clearly show wires attached to either side of him suspending him in mid air.

Mascara Magic Tricks

Unlike the famous magician we actually have some mascara magic tricks that are not an illusion. There are no smoke and mirrors here and certainly no wires, what you are about to see is real and with a little practice can be done by anyone to achieve long, volumised lashes with ease.

Let Your Mascara Wand Choose You!

Any of you that are into magic have surely seen Harry Potter. Well not unlike the wand that chooses the Wizard you have to let your Mascara choose you. What does this mean? Well everyone has different lashes, some people lack volume while others lack length or curl. Make sure to choose your magic mascara wand that is right for you.

For an example of how 100 different mascaras look on the same eye have a look at the Cosmopolitans posts here.

Sprinkle Some Magic Powder

Runny and smudged mascara is the bane of any woman’s existence. How do you overcome seeing your mascara smudged all over your face (slight exaggeration) before you even leave the front door you ask? To stop any smudging use a blotting powder or any other type of powder that dries translucent. Start by using a small brush and dip it into the powder, applying a few coats. Make sure to get right to the tips of your lashes and for added protection apply a setting or finishing spray.

Use Your Magic Shield    *cough* Plastic Spoon *cough*

Even the most advance makeup magicians struggle with applying mascara without the need for a little help. Before you start to apply the makeup make sure to find a plastic spoon and place it face down (indentation facing skin) between the lashes and your lids. This creates a sort of shield that protects your eyelid but doesn’t inhibit your ability to apply the mascara.

Rotate Your Wand In A Circular Motion

If you want to add length to your short lashes then it’s time to start rotating your wand. As you apply the mascara to your lashes rotate the brush from the root all the way to the tip.

Give Your Wand A Wiggle

Not everyone is born with nice thick lashes, so where nature has failed us, makeup fills in. Yeyyy!!! To add volume and separate the lashes you need wiggle your magic mascara wand as you move towards the end of your lashes – this stops clumping and makes your lasher appear thicker.

Revive Your ‘Dead’ Mascara.

Mascara can be expensive and for those of you who go through a whole tube in as little as under a month knowing how to get the most out of your tube is a money saver.

Run your mascara wand under hot water until it runs clean. Dip the wet wand back into its tube and rub it against the walls of the inside of the tube – the heat of the brush and the water will soften the dried product bringing it back from the dead.

This Is My Wand. There Are Many Like It, But This One Is Mine

Many women throw out their favourite wands along with the tube of empty mascara. A good mascara magician is only as good as the wand she uses. If you have a favourite wand that you have been using make sure to save it and only throw away the tube. This ensures that you can then reuse it with any mascara you want for the best results.

Tattoos Do Reduce Your Chance of Getting a Job

When did you last see a CEO with a big tattoo on their neck? Or a manager with a colourful hand piece? What about your doctor? Does he or she have any visible tattoos? Chances are that they do not and that you’ve never seen a CEO with a tattoo either. There is a reason for this according to a recent study undertaken at St Andrews University…or rather a number of reasons!

Tattoo Taboo In The Workplace

People are still judging other people’s professional capabilities on their tattoos…or lack of them. The general consensus is that visible tattoos aren’t great for your career and when 15 managers were recently quizzed on the subject, they admitted that when someone with tattoos came into their place of business for a job interview, their tattoos were usually the first thing discussed once they’d left the room.

The managers further admitted that whilst they themselves had some tattoos, theirs were not visible and did not therefore affect other people’s perceptions of them or their abilities.

Tattoo Design Can Make A Difference

Certainly there are some tattoos which are best kept under wraps…if sported at all! These include tattoos with reference to sex, drugs, violence and also to rap music which is often associated with all of the above! However, small tattoos featuring innocuous images such as flowers, birds and symbols were not viewed as harshly though one manager claimed that “any tattoos look dirty” which is a particularly severe judgement but an enlightening one!

The evidence definitely suggests then that tattoos are still not as widely accepted as some people might imagine and in fact could seriously hinder you professional development. The only remedy for this that is 100% reliable of course is to choose not to get tattooed but if it’s too late for that, all is not lost! You can still opt for Laser Tattoo Removal and keep on climbing up that career ladder without being judged.

Is Tattoo Removal Safe? 5 Methods Reviewed

If you’re thinking about tattoo removal then no doubt you will also have been thinking about the safety aspects of the various tattoo removal methods that are available.

Firstly it is important to remember that your skin is an organ in its own right…the largest you have in fact and that the care of it is very important. Your skin is your protection and it reflects you general health…it deserves the best care and treatment you can find!

laser tattoo removal5 tattoo removal methods

The 5 various methods of tattoo removal currently available are listed here with pros and cons to their outcomes; making an informed decision is vital in your quest to remove your old ink and start again with a clean canvass.

1.Salabrasion:

Is salabrasion safe?

The short answer to this question is not really. Salabrasion utilises nothing fancier than salt and water in the removal of tattoos. By rubbing the surface of the skin until it is raw and revealing the ink in the lower dermis, practitioners hope to remove tattoos with ease but in reality the risk of infection is quite high and t is a very painful process with a high risk of scarring. Talk about rubbing salt into your wounds!

2.Dermabrasion:

Is dermabrasion safe for the removal of tattoos?

Dermabrasion is a generally safe treatment as it is so carefully managed in good clinics but it is not generally seen as the best method for removing tattoos. Because many tattoos are created at varying depths, dermabrasion is seen as not being precise enough to be fully successful and there are often traces of green and yellow ink left behind.

3.Surgical Excision:

Is surgical excision of tattoos safe?

This method is safe in general as it is usually carried out by a surgeon but the risks are high. Infection, heavy scarring and skin discolouration are common.

4.Cryosurgery:

Is Cryosurgery for tattoo removal a safe option?

Again, this is a method usually carried out by doctors and so it can be assumed to be safe in general. However, it is quite a “rough” method of removal in that first the area to be treated is frozen…given a localised frostbite…and then dermabrasion is carried out on this area.

The idea is the extreme cold will toughen the skin and make the dermabrasion more effective. The reality is that Cryosurgery can only reach to a certain depth and the risks of infection and scarring are great.

5.Laser Tattoo Removal:

Is Laser Tattoo Removal Safe?

Of all the methods most often used today, laser therapy is the most popular and the least risky. Lasers don’t break the skin and they don’t cause scabs or infections. Because the lasers break down the ink by penetrating the skin with no cutting, the treatment is almost pain-free.

The after-care process is much simpler than with the methods discussed above and the success rate on all colours of ink is extremely high.

In conclusion

When compared to other techniques, Laser Tattoo Removal treatments are far safer and also more successful due to the superior penetration and non-invasive approach.

The History of Tattoo Removal

It was in 1681 that an injured pirate/doctor was marooned in Panama while he revered from an injury there, discovered the local’s predilection for tattoos. He wrote of their pleasure in pricking their skin all over “with a thorn until the blood gushes out” and of the attractive designs in varying colours which this basic form of tattooing produced.

How Can I Get Rid Of My Tattoo?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

How can I get rid of my tattoos? This cry for help is heard with increasing regularity in doctor’s offices across the world as tattoos have become more and more mainstream over recent years. Pre 1980, tattoos were strictly seen only on sailors, bikers and punks…other people sporting them were a very unusual sight.

Then came their popularisation in the 90s thanks largely to fashionable celebrities, rock stars and sports stars who made almost a hobby out of collecting tattoos by the most famous artists across the globe. Hollywood A-listers were seen with them and suddenly it wasn’t taboo…ordinary people everywhere were getting Chinese lettering, the names of their families, portraits and full back pieces which cost hundreds of pounds.

But people grow up…they get jobs, get married and begin careers which aren’t always sympathetic towards body art. Then there’s the issue of some women who want to look elegant in formal wear…not so easy when your shoulders are inked!

Below are some of the main methods used by people to remove their tattoos.

Salabrasion: This technique is very old and is basically the practice of stripping away upper layers of skin using an abrasive salt and water mixture. If it sounds rough that’s because it is! Salabrasion can cause serious scarring and isn’t a great solution for professional tattoos which may reach down deep into the lower skin layers.

Dermabrasion: This is a “sanding” method similar to salabrasion but without the salt. Practitioners basically use a special, coarse rotating brush to rub and grind away the upper layers of skin. It is painful and can’t be used if you suffer from bleeding disorders or Keloid scars. Dermabrasion isn’t always successful due to the fact that it can’t reach down to the lower layers and it also produces scars.

Excision: This is the technique of literally cutting out the area of skin with the tattoo on it. It is carried out under anaesthetic and the surgeon removes the upper layers of skin with a scalpel and then removes the ink resting within. The skin is then replaced and scarring is 100% likely. With larger areas, the original skin is not always replaceable and then a skin graft is necessary. This is an invasive and painful procedure with quite complex after-care involved.

Cryosurgery: This method is usually used to freeze off warts and other small imperfections on skin but it is also used in conjunction with dermabrasion at times. The skin with the tattoo present is exposed to extremely cold temperatures which “harden” the skin making it easier for the practitioner to “sand” off the layers of skin with ink in them. It is not always successful, can result in scarring and some colours such as yellow and green do not respond well to it.

Laser Tattoo Removal: This is by far the most successful method for tattoo removal being both safe and very effective. Lasers are precise and able to target only the area with the tattoo ink present within it…leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. Laser tattoo removal is highly effective on most ink colours and is generally suitable for all skin types. Even sensitive skin can be treated with excellent results. There is no aggressive removal of skin layers, rather the ink molecules are destroyed as they lie within the skin and then absorbed naturally by the body and expelled naturally too.

If you’re suffering from regret surrounding your body art don’t leave it a moment longer, with the technology available today you no longer need to put up with your unwanted tattoos.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

10 Ways Yoga Can Make You Feel Better

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Once upon a time, Yoga was something people did when they went backpacking to India in their summer holidays…or it was something done by actors and models but not something “normal” people did. Today Yoga is so well understood as a beneficial form of exercise and meditation that some GPs are known to recommend it to patients suffering from stress or depression.

It’s not all standing on your head or on one leg either…a lot of what Yoga is based on is mind-related. Deep breathing techniques and lying still encourage participants to slow down, to take a moment to just “be” and to let the stresses of modern living fall away. It works too! Yoga is an outstanding way to feel better about yourself and here are the top 10 ways in which Yoga can make you feel better…no matter what’s bugging you!

Yoga helps you feel more compassion:

Once you begin to understand yourself, it naturally follows that you understand others more. This helps people to be more sympathetic and more instinctive when dealing with other people daily.

Yoga makes you determined:

Some of the poses are tricky…you won’t want to simply give up trying and being with others who are also struggling will help you to find your inner strength and keep on trying!

Yoga improves core strength:

Yoga practitioners have great bodies because their core strength is optimised. This means that their muscles are toned and honed and it shows.

Yoga helps you to control your temper and manage stressful situations:

Yoga teaches the control of the breath; when we’re faced with a challenge of any kind, many people notice that their breath becomes short…shallow breathing is a sign of panic. Learning to control your breathing can help you to avoid losing your head when all around you are losing theirs!

Yoga helps you to lose weight:

Because Yoga teaches not only core strength and self control, it is the perfect way to learn to control eating and to strengthen the body at the same time.

Yoga teaches serenity:

Practitioners of Yoga often seem calmer and more serene than other people…because they are! Yoga allows people to tap into their “happy place” at will and as a result, they are usually calm and serene

Yoga can make you more popular:

Truly it can! With an inner strength and a calm nature, people will be drawn to you.

Yoga helps your succeed:

Whatever your profession or whatever profession you are pursuing, yoga can help you to make it a reality because it teaches resilience and allows practitioners to tap into untold inner strength.

Shift Those Extra Few Pounds With The Caveman Diet

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Caveman Diet speaks for itself pretty much…it’s basically a very simplified diet which works well for people who want to lose weight and perhaps build fitness whilst avoiding the tedious measuring and points counting which so many other diets include in their regimes.

The basis of The Caveman Diet is that you avoid foods which a caveman would not have had access to. So that means that kebabs and shop-bought pies are out! As are crisps, chocolate and most processed foods. What you can eat is meat, eggs, vegetables and some fruit and nuts though if you’re going to be really strict with yourself these should be eaten in season only. No caveman had access to strawberries in December for instance!

What you should not eat include grains, processed foods, sugar and dairy. So your morning yogurt is out…as is your lunchtime toastie and your mid-morning chocolate bar and fizzy drink!

You can also eat fish and shellfish so with imagination, you can enjoy a good and very healthy variety of foods…as long as you don’t fall into the habit of eating the same thing daily you should find that The Caveman Diet is very easy to stick to.

How to deal with cravings

Many people who are new to The Caveman Diet speak of sudden and almost desperate cravings for sugar. This is because sugar is highly addictive and your body will experience pangs and withdrawal at first. If you’re in need of a sugar fix eat a banana…and an apple. Berries are very sweet and excellent for fooling your body into thinking it’s been sated when it’s really crying out for a slice of cake and a cola…eat as many in season berries as you desire, not only are they tasty but they are also packed with antioxidants which will power your body and keep your toxin levels falling.

How to hurry along the improvements

So you’re patiently awaiting the results of your new diet but you’d like a little bit of action now. We all want to see results quickly so what’s a good treatment to boost your body confidence and which you can book into without disrupting your life or your bank balance?

The answer is TriActive & Body Contouring which is a non-invasive laser based treatment designed to improve the silhouette and appearance of the body’s problem areas. Thighs, buttocks, hips, arms,  your face, tummy and neck can all be treated with the low level laser diodes which make this treatment so remarkable. A glance at some before and after pictures from TriActive & Body Contouring will allow you to see for yourself just how amazing this treatment is.

Another treatment to give you that final push is Coolsculpting. Perfect and proven for those stubborn to shift areas Coolsculpting by Zeltiq can reduce fat by up to 30%. Find out more with a free consultation[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
